For the uninitiated Unity 3D is a useful tool for creating 3D video games or other interactive content such as architectural visualizations or 3D animations in real time. Until a few hours ago Unity 3D was only available for Mac OS X and Windows. The games made with Unity 3D can run on Windows, Mac OS X, GNU / Linux, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Wii, iPad, iPhone, Android, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Wii U.
Officially Unity 3D is some time available in a preview version for operating systems GNU / Linux and specifically Ubuntu, however, was never released as a stable version now. Let’s say for the moment, the team behind this project has not yet decided whether there will be developments and the support needed for the future.
This is a start, who knows that it is not the right time to entice developers to use the combination Ubuntu and Unity 3D.

The editor Unity 3D is currently only compatible with versions of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS ranging from up to latest version provided it is 64bit. You will need to have a video card AMD, Intel or nVidia latest possible and graphics driver installed must be those owners.
By clicking below, you can download the .deb file useful to install the Unity 3D editor, that during the installation will also install all the necessary dependencies, however you will need to manually install MonoDevelop, which can be found in the Ubuntu Software Center.
The editor Unity 3D can also work just as well on other distributions of GNU / Linux that are based on .deb packages, provided they meet the system requirements listed above. The development team recommends using Ubuntu for better software compatibility with this operating system.
